About Me

Hello, my name is Matt Devlin. With 7-years of 3D modeling experience I am looking to start a career in game development specifically as a level designer.


The process of designing an environment has always been a sort of two-way gate for me. First, I throw in some basic architechture with a simple story in mind. Nothing too deep; just an outline that I can build from. I continue adding more detail and the environment starts to take its true form.

At this point, I begin noticing smaller subplots starting to emerge that parallel the main plot. Evidence of lesser outlying events that would have been happening while the core events are taking place. In a way, the level is now telling me a story which makes the piece feel alive. It feels like a real living world that existed prior to the events of the main story, and is reacting to those events as they continue to play out.
